There is also a growing amount of research that shows professional property styling or home staging helps sell houses faster and at higher prices. One study done in the USA compared the average sale price and speed of sale of staged homes to un-staged homes and found;

• Staged homes sold twice as fast as non-staged homes.
• Staged homes sold 6.9% higher than non-staged homes.

Another survey revealed that small stylistic changes to the presentation of a home yield the biggest returns. It found that making a property “lighter and brighter”, cleaning and de-cluttering space and professionally “staging” the rooms are better investments than renovations when preparing your home for sale.
